Trae Young scored 28 points to help the Atlanta Hawks extend their winning streak to five games with a 113-101 win over the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.

Young was 8-for-19 from the floor, including five 3-pointers, and went 7-for-7 at the line to extend his streak of made free throws to 24. He added six assists.

Atlanta coach Nate McMillan won his 697th game and surpassed Red Holzman for 19th on the all-time wins list.

The victory made the Hawks 8-1 at home and enabled the team to reach the .500 mark for the first time since Nov. 3.

The Hawks had a balanced attack, with six players scoring in double figures. Kevin Huerter had 15 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic 13, John Collins and Danilo Gallinari 11 apiece, and Clint Capela added 10 points and 14 rebounds. Collins matched his career high with five blocked shots.

Oklahoma City got 15 points apiece from Luguentz Dort, Josh Giddey and Ty Jerome, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Leading scorer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander missed the game with a right-ankle sprain.

The Thunder completed their three-game trip with three losses and have dropped five of their past six.

Capela had eight points and six rebounds in the first quarter to spark Atlanta to a 32-27 lead. The Hawks stretched the lead to 10 points (44-34) before the Thunder tied it at 56-56 on a pair of Robinson-Earl free throws with 3:01 left.

Atlanta finished the quarter on a 10-4 run and had a 66-60 lead at halftime.

Atlanta scored the first seven points of the third quarter and went on to take a 93-71 lead into the final quarter.

The Thunder will return home for a two-game homestand that starts Wednesday against Utah. The Hawks will begin a two-game trip that begins Wednesday in San Antonio.
