Slovenian duo guides Valencia to a comfortable EuroCup W over Umana Reyer / News - Basketnews.com

Valencia Basket (4-2) eased past Umana Reyer Venice (2-4) 81-67 (27-16, 15-16, 20-15, 19-20) to get their third straight 7DAYS EuroCup win.

Valencia came out strong from the first seconds, opening the game with a 12-0 run. Mike Tobey (7 PTS) and Xabi Lopez-Arostegui (5 PTS) were draining shots. The Oranges' advantage reached 16 points (20-4) after Martin Hermannsson's shot from deep.

Valencia maintained the same lead until the mid-second period (40-24) but Umana Reyer, led by Martynas Echodas, closed the gap to 10 points (32-42), going into the break.

Though, after Mike Tobey's and Bojan Dubljevic's successful stretch, Valencia gained an advantage of 17 points (55-38) in the third quarter. Their lead reached 21 points (75-54) in the fourth and Valencia celebrated the convincing victory.

Klemen Prepelic was a top scorer for the winners, posting 17 points (0/3 2PT, 5/12 3PT, 2/2 FT), 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 3 drawn fouls, and 8 PIR.

Mike Tobey, who returned to action after the surgery, added 16 points (5/6 2PT, 2/3 3PT), 8 rebounds, and 19 PIR.

Martynas Echodas led the route for Umana Reyer, accumulating 16 points (5/5 2PT, 6/8 FT), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 1 block, 6 drawn fouls, and 23 PIR.
