Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (5-9) snapped a three-game losing streak in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague contest, crushing LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (7-7) in Spain 91-66 (19-19, 26-25, 24-11, 22-11).

ASVEL kept struggling in the fourth, scoring just 11 points in the period and 22 in the second half. Baskonia gained their largest lead at 25 after a late 3-pointer by Alec Peters ad the game concluded.
Both teams traded buckets in the first period, with Chris Jones standing out by scoring 10 points in the quarter. The score was tied at 19 after the period concluded.
The second quarter was close as well, resulting in 12 lead changes. Wade Baldwin nailed a last-second 3-pointer to finish the first half, putting Baskonia up by one going into the break (45-44).
Five Baskonia's players scored in double digits tonight. Fontecchio and Rokas Giedraitis stood out with 15 points each. Fontecchio added 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 turnover, and 18 PIR.
"It was a great gift that the team made to me because of the win and a good game from everybody," Fontecchio said after performing well on his birthday. "So much good intensity on offense and defense and we shared the ball so well. We looked like a very good team tonight, but we’ve got to stay focused."
The Italian forward also reached the 500-point mark in the EuroLeague tonight and was happy with the accomplishment: "Amazing! I have to get some more! I'm still 26, not that young anymore, but I hope I've still got some time!"
Wade Baldwin also admitted that the team is improving: "We had a team meeting to fix some things, call each other out, and it’s been showing in the past two games. We're stringing things together, the guys are finding rhythm, and we're having fun playing basketball."
