Alongside the team of department heads, they will be expected to fulfill the strategy of the organization, handle processes and carry out organizational values.
Current club director Paulius Motiejunas will continue leading the entire Zalgiris organization but will focus more on the sports side of things.
According to Motiejunas, this was a decision that had been brewing for a while, with most impact coming from the wish to grow even more.
"We've been considering this move for a while, and as time goes on, it seems to be more and more relevant," Motiejunas noted in the press release. "We always continue to improve as an organization, and to do that, we need a better division of labor and extra hands in general."
Before the pandemic hit, Zalgiris and Zalgirio Arena were going through an upswing, expanding its activities and growth into a successful business organization.
However, the pandemic showed the other side of things – the income fell drastically, and now it's needed to work even harder to reach even a similar result.
Those looking to apply for the position will be held to high expectations, with requirements of at least 5 years of managerial experience running a team of department heads, excellent communication, and negotiation skills, strategic thinking, etc.
"We will not rush into things with the selection of our new Chief Operational Officer because it's an important job. We will carefully make a selection from our candidates, and we believe we'll take a step forward together," noted Motiejunas.
