The Houston Rockets made three separate moves centered on their commitment to young sharp-shooter Garrison Mathews, according to ESPN reports Friday evening.

To start, ESPN reported that Houston was waiving former starter Danuel House.

The outlet then reported that the Rockets would use House's roster spot to convert Mathews from a two-way contract into a four-year deal worth more than $8 million.

Finally, it added that the Rockets' now-vacant two-way spot would go to Trevelin Queen, who will join the team Saturday.

House played in 154 games (including 89 starts) for the team over the last four seasons. He averaged between 8.8 and 10.5 points in each of the last three campaigns, but his statistics are down across the board in 16 games (one start) this season as he has battled an ankle injury.

House, 28, was averaging just 4.8 points on 33.8 percent shooting entering the weekend.

The Rockets reportedly had been looking to trade House (among other players) to open a roster spot for Mathews, who has appeared in 16 games for Houston. The 25-year-old wing player has averaged 12.3 points per game while shooting 36.2 percent from 3-point range.

Queen, 24, went undrafted out of New Mexico State in 2020. The 6-foot-6 guard has appeared in 10 games for Rio Grande Valley, the Rockets' G League affiliate, and is averaging 22 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.9 steals.
