The Kings are missing De’Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell, and Terence Davis from their backcourt with all three currently sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols. It’s unclear how long the three will be out, but it looks like the former lottery pick will get some playing time in their place.

Mudiay’s last full NBA season was in 2019-20 when he was with the Utah Jazz. He only played 5 EuroLeague games (4 as a starter) with Zalgiris, posting averages of 7,4 points (on 23,1% three-point shooting), 2.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2,2 turnovers (5.6 PIR) in 19 minutes of action.Mudiay, 25, was selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2015 draft by the Denver Nuggets. The Congolese-American guard Mudiay has also played for the Knicks and Jazz. He holds career averages of 11.0 points, 3.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds across 300 NBA games, 165 of them starts.

The Kings have already signed two other guards, Justin Robinson and Ade Murkey to 10-day hardship contracts in less than a week.
