Bulls' Zach LaVine, others exit protocols, return to practice / News - Basketnews.com
Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine has exited the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols and participated in Thursday's practice.
LaVine, 26, has been idle since playing 38 minutes in the Bulls' 102-93 loss to the Miami Heat on Dec. 11. He was the game-high scorer with 33 points and added seven rebounds and four assists, marking the third time in his past four games he scored more than 30 points.
The All-Star is averaging 26.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 27 games (all starts) this season for the Bulls, who return to action Sunday against the visiting Indiana Pacers.
LaVine is averaging 19.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 438 career games (351 starts) with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls.
The good news wasn't just limited to LaVine as coach Billy Donovan said all the Chicago players have cleared the protocol. That group includes forward Alize Johnson as well as guards Ayo Dosunmu, Matt Thomas and Devon Dotson.
While Johnson (Dec. 11), Dosunmu (Dec. 8) and Thomas (Dec. 6) last played approximately two weeks ago, Dotson entered the protocol on Tuesday. He has since tested out, per Donovan.
