ASVEL LDCL Villeurbanne (8-9) sneaked past Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (7-10) 84-82 (21-20, 22-26, 21-14, 20-22) to terminate their four-game losing streak.

Marko Guduric hit a three-point shot, tying the game at 70 with 5 minutes to go. Chris Jones and James Gist scored a duo apiece but Achille Polonara answered with a bomb from deep (73-74). Dyshawn Pierre put his team in front with two successful free throws (75-74).

Though, Fenerbahce's success was short-lived as William Howard nailed a three and Chris Jones added a duo (79-75) with 2:50 to play. ASVEL got a couple of stops on their end while Elie Okobo sank a hard two-pointer (81-75).

Nevertheless, Achille Polonara did not let Fener give up, scoring 6 consecutive points (81-81). Chris Jones drained a crucial floater on the other end, while Marko Guduric made a turnover, 17.8 seconds were left.

ASVEL burned out 10 seconds as Chris Jones was fouled eventually. Jones converted only one shot, while Kahudi fouled Achille Polonara. The Italian forward scored one shot from the line, missing the second one intentionally (82-84). Though, he violated the rules and the ball was given to ASVEL.

James Gist was sent to the line by Fenerbahce and missed both of them. However, Fenerbahce did not have enough time for the comfortable shot, so, Sehmus Hazer threw the ball from his own court but his shot was way off the mark. ASVEL celebrated the hard-fought W.

Chris Jones was unstoppable for the winners, posting 27 points (6/8 2PT, 3/4 3PT, 6/7 FT), 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, 1 block, 5 drawn fouls, and 30 PIR.

"I feel great! I feel like it is well-deserved by us, beating a good team. It is something we have to build on. We have been struggling in the last couple of games but I feel this is a great win for us and like I said, we just have to build on it. It was embarrassing last week against Olympiacos but we wanted to come out and show the fire that we got in us, and we got the job done," said Jones post-game.

Achille Polonara was superb for Fenerbahce, registering 23 points (6/8 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 5/6 FT), 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 5 drawn fouls, and 33 PIR.

"The first thought goes to our best players, Nando De Colo, who is seriously injured, he just came back from the hospital, and Jan Vesely, who twisted his ankle. This is the first thing. I think we were still a warrior team and believed until the end," spoke Sasa Djordjevic.

ASVEL: Chris Jones 27, Elie Okobo 14, William Howard 12 (5 REB), James Gist 10.

Fenerbahce: Achille Polonara 23 (11 REB), Dyshawn Pierre 17 (7 REB), Marko Guduric 10, Pierria Henry 10.
