Taurean Prince had 17 points as the Timberwolves won on the second night of a back-to-back after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers 108-103 on Sunday. Minnesota entered having lost five of their last six games.

The Timberwolves ended a four-game road losing streak without leading scorer Karl-Anthony Towns for a sixth consecutive game and third-leading scorer D'Angelo Russell for the fifth consecutive contest. Both cleared COVID-19 protocol earlier Monday and have moved to return-to-competition conditioning.

Serge Ibaka had 17 points for the Clippers, while Justise Winslow added 15 as Los Angeles lost in its return home after winning two of three on the road, including a 120-116 victory at Brooklyn on Saturday. Los Angeles committed 20 turnovers.

The Clippers were without head coach Tyronn Lue (COVID protocol) for the third consecutive game with Brian Shaw serving as acting head coach. They were also missing star Paul George (elbow) for the sixth consecutive game and the 11th time in the last 13 contests.

The Timberwolves got off to a hot start, shooting 57.4 percent in the first half. They took their first double-digit lead at 41-30 with 7:03 remaining before halftime and pushed it to 20 points at 62-42 with less than two minutes before the break. Minnesota was up 64-46 at halftime.

It remained a 20-point lead after three quarters at 85-65 and the Wolves cruised home from there. Minnesota won the finale of the season series against the Clippers after losing the first three meetings.

Naz Reid scored 13 for the Wolves and Patrick Beverley had 11 points and 12 assists against his former team.

Hardship exemption Xavier Moon had 13 points in his fourth career game, while Marcus Morris Sr. had 12 as Los Angeles lost its fourth consecutive home game.
