Following the shareholders meeting held on January 3, 2022, in which the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participating clubs agreed to apply several modifications to the Health and Safety Protocols, and their subsequent ratification by the ECA Shareholders Executive Board, EuroLeague has published the updated 2021-2022 Health and Safety Protocols.
UPDATED 2021-2022 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Besides shortening the time return for vaccinated players under the Play Protocol from 14 to 7 days, which was already announced, the modifications include, among others:
Players, coaching staff, and referees to perform a PCR or RAT test three days ahead of every game (two days for home games), with no exceptions for individuals who have been vaccinated or previously tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently received medical clearance. Return to Play Protocol for non-vaccinated players to be shortened from 14 to 10 days provided that the time frame is in line with the regulations of local authorities. This follows the trend of reduced quarantine and isolation periods that has already been applied in several EuroLeague territories. Current PCR and other medical testing that needs to be performed before a player receives clearance to play continues to be applied. The modifications to the Health and Safety Protocols will be applied to both the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the 7DAYS EuroCup with immediate effect and aim at protecting and promoting the regularity and fairness of the competitions.
