Stefan Jovic, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens's new signing, uttered his satisfaction that he will be a member of the Greek side at least until the end of the 2021-2022 season.

The 31-year-old point guard, who last played for Khimki Moscow Region, spoke to the club's website about his transfer and the reasons for accepting the Greens' offer. "I feel great because I am now a small part of a great team with great fans and a huge history. At the same time, I look forward to playing again in order to help Panathinaikos achieve their goals," he said initially.Referring to the reasons that made him sign with PAO, Jovic noted that it was a combination of factors that led him to the decision:

"Athens is an amazing place to live with your family and Panathinaikos is the ideal club to compete. Of course, I spoke with Nemanja Nedovic and he told me the best about the team, emphasizing that it's the perfect place for me.

Obviously, I know everything about Panathinaikos and I'm excited to be a part of it. For me, it was an easy decision."Regarding his long-term absence and the injury problem he faced during and after the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Belgrade last June, the Serbian guard said:

"I visited many doctors in Serbia and Germany, worked hard during my recovery and now I am ready to get to work with my new team"

He further added that he's ready to enter team practices as soon as he lands in Greece, probably next Monday (January 10).

"I had spoken to coach (Dimitris) Priftis three weeks ago as part of our acquaintance and told him I would be ready in about a month.

Now, I feel ready to join Panathinaikos's practice sessions. If everything goes well, on Monday I will be in Athens to start working with my new team".
