They take every game personally. Devin Booker is playing his ass off defensively. I've been watching him compared to two years ago.
Guys like that, they buy-in, and you can tell they take pride in playing defense and stopping their man, doing whatever they can defensively to stop the other team and be part of a winning culture. I think we're not there yet, but I think we're going to get there," Gobert commented.
When it comes to defense, Gobert is arguably the front runner in the whole NBA. The French center is a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year (2018, 2019, 2021).
Moreover, the 29-year-old five-times entered NBA All-Defensive First Team (2017–2021) and was the NBA blocks leader in 2017.
This season, he is contributing on both ends on the floor, registering 15.5 points, 15.1 rebounds (1st in the NBA), 1.1 assists, and 2.3 blocks (2nd) over 37 games. Nothing strange, he is in the MVP race at this moment.
The Utah Jazz are 28-14 and sit at third in the Western Conference.
