Partizan and Virtus dominate the EuroCup mid-season GM survey / News - Basketnews.com

Euroleague Basketball's annual mid-season survey polls 7DAYS EuroCup general managers on a series of fan-centric questions about the competition. At the halfway point of the regular season, the GMs were asked about their final favorites, the most surprising team, and the best head coach, among other questions.

Partizan NIS Belgrade and Virtus Segafredo Bologna were chosen as the main candidates to play in the EuroCup final, with 70% and 65% of GMs expressing their opinion on the teams respectively.

Currently, Partizan are sitting in first place in Group A with 7 wins in 9 matches, while

The EuroCup will have a new winner this season as the reigning champions AS Monaco Basket are currently playing in the EuroLeague.

Partizan's head coach Zeljko Obradovic has also been voted as the best head coach in the league. No other coach came in close to the legendary specialist

Partizan's superstar point guard Milos Teodosic has also been voted as the best passer in the league with no other player even contesting the Serbian for the title.

Partizan's Alen Smailagic has been voted as the Rising Star of the tournament. This category, however, was not as one-sided as the ones before, with Joel Parra and Jaime Pradilla getting the nod as well.

Both powerhouses, Partizan and Virtus, got mentioned as two of the most fun teams to watch. The first place went to Joventut Badalona though. Led by Ante Tomic, the Spanish club is 4th in the league in PIR.

Partizan have also been voted as the toughest team to play against. The Serbian team allows the 3rd-lowest points in the league and 4th-lowest PIR in the league.

Most uncomfortable opponent:

Partizan NIS Belgrade (25%) Valencia Basket (15%)

The best shooters in the league also come from the two powerhouses with Marco Belinelli and Kevin Punter being voted as the top-two options by the general managers.

Best pure shooter:

Marco Belinelli (20%) Kevin Punter (15%)

The MVP of the 7DAYS EuroCup was almost unanimously voted to be Johnathan Motley of Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. No other player came close to contending, according to the GMs.

2021-2022 Regular Season MVP:

Johnathan Motley (60%)

GMs were also asked about their most desired players. As expected, Johnathan Motley was the most popular choice again.

However, Kevin Punter and Klemen Prepelicalso received a fair share of votes as well.

Johnathan Motley has also been voted as the most spectacular player to watch, with Milos Teodosic, previously acknowledged as the best passer in the league, coming in at a second place.

The most surprising team this season so far? Buducnost Voli Podgorica. Lietkabelis Panevezys and Ratiopharm Ulm were not so far behind as well.
