Stefan Jovic arrived in Athens on Monday afternoon and expressed his satisfaction with being a member of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens.

The Serbian guard talked to Greek media, stressing he is expecting more from PAO in the second part of the campaign: "I was absent for six months because I had a serious injury with the national team. I am happy to be here and I will give my best to help the team. I hope that the second half of the season will be much better than the first."

Regarding his physical condition, Jovic said that he feels great at this moment. According to the player, he talked to Panathinaikos in December and it was easy for him to decide to arrive here.

The 31-year-old also shared his vision when he is expected to be back on the court.

"I believe that in a few days and after some training sessions, I will be ready to join the team," Jovic said.

Asked if he expects his cooperation with Panathinaikos to continue in the coming years, the Serbian athlete spoke: "Yes, there is an option for both sides. We'll see. For me, the most important thing now is to play. I believe in myself."

Moreover, the club's newcomer talked about the Panathinaikos problem in the point guard position, after the departure of Nick Calathes: "Nick is one of the best point guards in the EuroLeague.

We are similar players. This is what Panathinaikos needed at the moment. I expect to give these things to the team so that it can play better," commented Stefan Jovic.

Jovic last played for Khimki Moscow Region. During the 2019-20 season with the Russian squad, Stefan averaged 7.6 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest in a total of 23 EuroLeague games. In the following season, he posted 4.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 2 rebounds per game in the strongest continental competition.
