Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel's job is in serious jeopardy despite the victory against the Utah Jazz last night, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

By the time the Lakers and Jazz tipped off on Monday night, The Athletic's sources said, Vogel was coaching for his job after he narrowly avoided being fired in the wake of the 37-point loss in Denver.

Two-time NBA All-Star Game head coach is being evaluated on a game-to-game basis and remains at risk of being sacked soon if the progress doesn't continue, via Charania.

Vogel has been at the helm of the Lakers since 2019. The 48-year-old specialist guided the Purple & Gold to the NBA championship in 2020. His contract runs through the 2022-23 campaign.

LA Lakers are now seventh in the Western Conference, having 22 wins and 22 defeats.

The Lakers host Indiana on Wednesday, then start a six-game road trip through Orlando, Miami, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Charlotte, and Atlanta. They will also face the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, and Utah Jazz again before next month's All-Star break.
