Young failed to score in the first quarter but finished 10-for-17 from the floor, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range, and added 14 assists. It was his league-leading 11th game this season with at least 30 points and 10 assists.

Atlanta also got 22 points from De'Andre Hunter, 17 points and 12 rebounds from John Collins, 17 points, eight rebounds and five blocks from Onyeka Okongwu and 15 points off the bench from Danilo Gallinari.

Minnesota was led by D'Angelo Russell with 31 points, including six 3-pointers, and Anthony Edwards, who scored 20 points before being ejected in the third quarter. Karl-Anthony Towns added 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Atlanta earned a second straight win overall and completed a two-game, season-series sweep of Minnesota. The Timberwolves had won six of their previous eight games overall.

The first half belonged to the Timberwolves.

Minnesota opened the game with a 7-0 run and raced to a 42-26 lead after one quarter, shooting 59.3 percent and outrebounding Atlanta 15-4.

Russell made three consecutive 3-points as the Timberwolves went ahead 56-41 near the midpoint of the second quarter. The Timberwolves couldn't add to the advantage and held a 73-61 halftime lead.

The Hawks opened the second half with a 20-2 run, and they scored 45 points in the third quarter. Edwards was ejected at the 5:57 mark for getting two technical fouls after the same play.

An unusual scenario occurred with 0.9 seconds left in the third quarter. Towns appeared to have scored a quarter-ending 3-pointer, but a review reversed the call and Towns was assessed a Flagrant-1 foul and given a technical foul. Rather than holding a seven-point lead, the Hawks led 106-93 going into the fourth quarter.
