FC Barcelona head Sarunas Jasikevicius once again shared his thoughts about coronavirus.
Player of the Game EFF 29 Lorenzo Brown Points 22 Accuracy 9-13 Rebounds 3 Assists 8
Barcelona star Nikola Mirotic was tested positive for Covid and couldn't help his team in a game against UNICS Kazan. After the loss, Jasikevicius was asked about Mirotic's physical condition.
"Physical condition? He has the incredible omicron. He's feeling an animal," Jasikevicius made a short comment.
On January 10, Jasikevicius also shared the idea that 10 years ago, the current situation of coronavirus would have been met differently.
"Everyone interprets my words however they want, but if I had gotten some kind of virus 10 years ago, we would've drunk two cups of tea, and we would've gone to work," the Lithuanian specialist told Delfi.
"That would be the situation if not for all these omicrons, deltacrons, covids, and what else. I don't know who needs this thing. I disagree with lots of things," Jasikevicius expressed.
Speaking of the loss, the Lithuanian said that the game's outcome was determined by small details.
"All of the big games are decided by details. I thought defensively we were solid except for the end of the third quarter, where they had a run at us with some cheap points.
Defensively a huge problem was fouling the shooters, which we did four times. We've been emphasizing this. But obviously, we as coaches are not doing a good job," Jasikevicius said.
The 45-year-old also admitted that he was missing some input from more players.
"Higgins was excellent, Davies was okay, solid. But I cannot find a third player that was solid. And with one and a half, two players to win in Kazan, it's just not enough. We were not good enough," pointed Jasikevicius.
