"I am preparing to return to the NBA, no matter what," the Argentinian guard said. "NBA is the dream of many players. Having stayed at the door - shocks me."

Last May, Vildoza signed a deal with the New York Knicks but was waived on October 3, after playing two 2021 NBA Summer League games.

Then he decided to undergo right foot surgery and recover from the physical problems, he dragged on. Vildoza has not participated in the game since August 3, 2021.

The 26-year-old is expected to start contact practice next week and some reports suggest that he could be fully fit in mid-February.

Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz are still maintaining Luca Vildoza's rights in Europe. However, the Basques club is not part of his plans right now: "I feel a love for Baskonia, and at some point in my life, I would like to return there. I know that they have my rights but now it is not in my plans to come back," said Vildoza to 0223 media outlet.

The last big stage, where Vildoza could demonstrate his skills, was Tokyo Olympics. Though, he was lackluster there, averaging 7.0 points (16.7% 3PT), 2.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 6.0 PIR over four games with Argentina.
