Griezmann is in a great relationship with Mirotic. They both landed in Barcelona the same year, 2019, and got along pretty well. In Barca, they shared the same communication manager and spent quite some time together.

However, the French football star's career shifted to Madrid on August 31, 2021. Griezmann returned to Atletico Madrid on a one-year loan, where he played from 2014 to 2019.

His departure has been largely unlamented, except as an expression of the gravity crisis at the Camp Nou. The Barcelona president Joan Laporta said in early September that Griezmann was "not the player they needed".

In the latest interview with Gerard Romero, Nikola Mirotic expressed the support for his friend anda die-hard basketball fan among the former FC Barcelona players.

According to the 30-year-old basketball athlete, he believes that Griezmann left a trace in Barca's football squad and would still continue delivering today.

"Antoine, for some reason, couldn't give his best here. He's a great professional, though, not everything went as he wanted or the fans desired, but we wish Antoine the best.

In my opinion, right now, he would be a perfect fit in the team with Xavi and we would have enjoyed his play a lot because we lack goals, and he can score them. I might get some criticism but that's what I think," Mirotic said.
