NBA announced a new format for the 2022 Rising Stars event at All-Star Weekend, which will take place on Friday, February 18.
A new format will feature four seven-player teams competing in a three-game tournament, while each game has a final target score.
A total of 28 players will participate in the event: 12 rookies, 12 sophomores – and for the first time, four top G League Ignite players.
The teams will be coached by members of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and assistant coaches from the NBA All-Star Game coaching staff. Bench bosses will select their team rosters in the Rising Stars Draft.
The two semifinal games will be played to a final target score of 50. The final game will be played to a final target score of 25. A total of 75 points in honor of the NBA's 75th anniversary season.
