Nassir Little (shoulder) possibly out for season / News - Basketnews.com
Portland Trail Blazers forward Nassir Little has a labral tear in his left shoulder, with ESPN reporting Thursday that the injury could keep the third-year player out for the remainder of the season.
Officially, the team said an update on his status will be provided as available.
Little was injured in the fourth quarter of the Blazers' 109-107 home loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Little scored 20 points in 29 minutes.
The former No. 25 overall draft pick in 2019 out of North Carolina was averaging a career-best 9.8 points with 5.6 rebounds in 42 games this season. Tuesday was just his third game of at least 20 points on the campaign.
It is the latest in a series of injuries that have plagued the Blazers this season. Star guard Damian Lillard has not played since the start of the new year because of an abdominal issue and underwent surgery that could keep him out at least another month.
On Tuesday, backup center Cody Zeller underwent knee surgery that is expected to keep him out at least two months. Larry Nance Jr. is out indefinitely with a knee injury, while Dennis Smith Jr. (ankle) and Robert Covington (knee) are day-to-day.
