James reacts to an awful shooting night: 'We played like sh*t. Can't be that bad again' / News - Basketnews.com
AS Monaco was close to making a statement with a win vs. Real Madrid, but nightmarish shooting performance couldn't close the game against the EuroLeague leaders.

Top Monaco's scorers Mike James and Dwayne Bacon had a night to forget. They both made just 23.1% of their 2-point and 3-point attempts in a double-overtime loss 84-90.
Bacon had 19 points in 41 minutes on 6 of 20 field goal shooting.
James finished the game with 11 points on 3 of 19 shooting (15.79%) in 38 minutes.
They both missed 30 shots combined. Per Darius Garuolis' data, that makes them the worst shooting combo in modern EuroLeague history.
"And still could have won," Mike James replied on Twitter. "We played likesh*t. Can't be that bad again."
The rest of the team missed 24 field goals. For example, the entire Monaco team missed less than 30 shots in 7 EuroLeague games this season.
James also marked one of the worst individual performances in modern EuroLeague history.
Per Darius Garuolis, only Gordan Giricek had a worse shooting efficiency with at least 19 field goal attempts, making 2 of 19 field goals (10.53%) in 2000-01.
On the other hand, such a poor offensive performance can be explained by the fact that Madrid has the best defensive rating in the EuroLeague, per BBallytics.
Before facing Real, James averaged 18.9 points on 58.7% 2-point and 42.9% 3-point shooting under coach Sasa Obradovic. Dwayne Bacon produced 15.1 points on 47% 2-point and 39.1% 3-point shooting.
Both Bacon and James missed potential game-winners at the end of regulation and overtime.
In both situations, Real survived after erasing 6-point and 5-point deficits. Madrid snapped Monaco's 4-game winning streak.
"We could definitely go with a little bit smarter decisions to win this. But congratulations to my players. I think we did a great job. It was also a great basketball promotion. But unfortunately, we lost," Monaco's head coach Sasa Obradovic said on EuroLeague TV.
