CSKA Moscow bolstered its backcourt by signing Allerik Freeman, who has been one of the best scorers in the 7DAYS EuroCup this season with Frutti Extra Bursaspor.

As BasketNews reported on Monday, Bursaspor will receive a buyout of almost €100k. The deal between Freeman and CSKA is expected to be until the end of the season, according to BasketNews sources. Mozzart Sport were the first to report both sides being close to a deal.

Freeman (1.90 meters, 27 years old) is fourth in the EuroCup in scoring with 19.6 points per game. He is also second in the Turkish League in scoring with 20.3 points per game.

Freeman made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut in 2020 with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and averaged 7.4 points, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 18 appearances. He has also played for Shenzhen in the Chinese Basketball Association and Alba Fehervar of Hungary.

"Freeman is bringing scoring abilities, the ability to create space and separation by being ready to drive to the basket or shoot from long distance, setting up his own shots or shots for his teammates," CSKA boss Dimitris Itoudis said. "He is at a good age, and he has experience of playing in the EuroLeague for ASVEL. Obviously, he understands that he is coming to a team with many good players; healthy competition will help the team more."
