According to "Israel Today" journalist Yakov Meir, the team claims that the player's departure from Israel in May 2021 caused damage for the team, in part because it had to bring another player.
Neither the player nor his representatives have responded to the lawsuit so far.
Nebo had a successful 2020-2021 season at the Israeli club, averaging 13.6 points and 10 rebounds for 21.8 PIR in Israel's Basketball League. Having established himself in the league, Nebo joined Zalgiris last year.
The American center, in part due to Joffrey Lauvergne's injury, has been a pleasant surprise for Zalgiris during his rookie season in the EuroLeague. Nebo has been averaging 8.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks for 12.7 PIR.
The Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) is an independent body, officially recognised by FIBA and outlined by the FIBA General Statutes, providing services for the rapid and simple resolution of disputes between players, agents, coaches, and clubs through arbitration.
