Washington Wizards assistant coach Mike Batiste has been suspended for two games without pay, the NBA announced today.

Batiste has earned this punishment for entering the stands in an attempt to confront a fan during this week's game between the Wizards and the Miami Heat.

The incident occurred with 15 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the Wizards being down 97-121. Several Wizards players stepped in before Batiste made contact with the fan.

Batiste will begin serving his suspension tonight, as the Wizards will host the Brooklyn Nets.

Batiste is a former player who retired in 2014. He is a three-time EuroLeague champion, a nine-time Greek champion, seven-time Greek Cup winner. Among his wide range of accomplishments, Batiste has also been selected to the All-EuroLeague first and second team.
