Celtics unload pair of injured players to Magic / News - Basketnews.com
The Boston Celtics sent injured players Bol Bol and P.J. Dozier to the Orlando Magic in a cost-savings move on Thursday.
The Celtics receive a future protected second-round pick in return while also sending a future second-round selection and cash to the Magic.
The Celtics acquired Bol and Dozier from the Denver Nuggets last month as part of a three-team trade that also included the San Antonio Spurs.
Bol, 22, underwent surgery on his right foot one day before the trade and is out for the season. Bol averaged 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 14 games for Denver this season.
Dozier underwent surgery in December to repair his torn left ACL and is out for the season. The 25-year-old appeared in 18 games (all off the bench), averaging 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18.9 minutes per contest for Denver.
Also on Thursday, the Magic waived guards Michael Carter-Williams and E'Twaun Moore.
Carter-Williams has not played this season while recovering from left ankle surgery on Aug. 23.
Moore has not played this season due to a sprained left knee.
