The forward scored 31 points and ended with a total of 47 PIR this Sunday at Lugo, leading Rio Bregan to a 99-82 victory against the Taronjas.
Two months ago, at La Fonteta, Musa scored 33 points to finish with a 44 PIR.
Musa has accumulated 91 PIR in two games against Joan Peñarroya’s team this season, an astonishing statistic. The former Anadolu Efes player was absolutely stunning in an impressing third quarter by the Galician team, who outscored Valencia 35-22.
Musa scored 12 of his 31 points in that period, showing all his skills. He ended with 31 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and shared 7 assists, one ahead of his season-high.
"He played excellently during the whole game, he was dominant and helped us a lot", said Mrsic after the match.
Looking at the historical stats, Musa registered one of the best marks in the last ACB decade. His 47 PIR is just behind 52 of Sylven Landesberg (at Palau Blaugrana), 48 of Dylan Ennis and 48 of Askia Booker. The iconic Pete Mickeal finished with 54 PIR against Baskonia back in 2006 with Breogan’s shirt.
"My intention is to finish the season and build something here. Lugo are a big family, I am very happy to be part of this club. That moves me, even when I leave Lugo I will always carry him in my heart", said Musa a few weeks ago when he received the December MVP award.
Musa is the new idol in Lugo. Not a surprise at all.
