Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of each foot and connects the heel bone to the toes (plantar fascia).
Higgins has been plagued with injuries this season. He has battled a back injury alongside the current foot-related issues.
The 32-year-old appeared in 13 of Barcelona's 25 games at the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague this season.
His numbers took a dip compared to last season, standing at 9.2 points (32.3% 3PT), 1.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 8.5 PIR over 23 minutes.
Though, Higgins is posting a bit higher averages in nine ACB matches, registering 10.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 9.8 PIR.
With 20 wins and 5 losses, FC Barcelona are currently the EuroLeague leader.
In the local competition, the Catalans rank second, behind Real Madrid, with 14 wins and 3 defeats. However, Barca have four duels in spare.
