USA Basketball announced its 12-man roster for the February 2021 USA World Cup Qualifying Team.

Former NBA head coach Jim Boylen, who directed the USA team during the November 2021 World Cup Qualifying games in Chihuahua, Mexico, will again serve as head coach of the USA Basketball Men's World Cup Qualifying Team.

Five USA players boast of professional playing experience overseas, including Black (Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, Zenit St Petersburg), Bowen (Sydney Kings), Stockton ( New Zealand Breakers, Cedevita, Medi Bayreuth, Mets de Guaynabo), Watson (BG Goettingen), and Wright-Foreman (Socar Petkimspor, Chorale Roanne Basket).
Tarik Black is the best-known name there. He finished the 2020-21 season with Zenit, reaching the EuroLeague playoffs. The 30-year-old averaged 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 15 minutes over seven EuroLeague contests.
Prior to Zenit, Black played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, posting 11.0 points and 5.4 rebounds during the 2018-2019 season and 9.1 points on 61.8% two-point shooting plus 4.8 rebounds in 11 EuroLeague games in the 2019-20 campaign, which was cut short for him due to injury and for all teams involved because of the pandemic.
