The management of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv had a meeting with Oded Kattash and discussed with him the possibility of being appointed the team's head coach, according to Yakov Meir of IsraelHayom.

However, there are no agreements between the parties yet, per the report.

Prior to that, Maccabi officially said goodbye to Ioannis Sfairopoulos after the tough loss in the Israeli Cup semi-finals.

Kattash's last career stop was Panathinaikos OPAP Athens in 2021. It was his first coaching experience outside of Israel. He managed to guide PAO to Greek Cup and Greek League titles.

The 47-year-old specialist started his professional coach's path withHapoel Galil Elyon in 2004. After three years there, he joined Maccabi Tel Aviv forces for a one-year stint.

Then he shifted to Hapoel Gilboa Galil and later worked with Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Eilat, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Hapoel Jerusalem.

His coaching career includes a couple of stints with the Israel national team as well. First, he became the assistant of the squad in 2010 and worked in this position till 2013. Kattash's second try was in the period of 2017-21, when he navigated Israel as the NT's head coach.

During his years in Israel, Oded Kattash became the winner of the Israeli League in 2010 and two times (2019, 2020) captured first place in the Israeli Cup.
