"I think that in the first half, we took some good shots, but we missed them, and because of that, we got nervous. In the second half, we weren't rational enough. We played more with the heart than with our head, and that created a problem," coach Scariolo said.
"We weren't aggressive enough on the perimeter, we let them shoot too many open 3-pointers, especially Sanders in the first half killed us", coach Scariolo continued. "And because they were scoring effectively from deep, we started to take rushed shots, we didn't build patiently."
Coach Scariolo also commented on his decision not to use Nico Mannion in the second half. It wasn't a physical problem but a coach's decision.
"Nico played a dull game, and I thought that I needed players with more experience in the second half and more prepared than him. It was my decision, it wasn't related to physical issues."
"We have to learn from this loss. I'm sorry for the fans that came here to support us, but I'm sure that in a couple of weeks, they'll see a team that has learned its lesson," coach Scariolo finished.
