Thompson played four games with the Pacers but he was eager to join a contender team, so in the end, the two sides reached an agreement for a buyout.
The Bulls decided to add a veteran to their roster and signed Thompson until the end of the season.
The power forward won an NBA title with the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2016.
