Micic leads Efes past Fenerbahce, raising the Turkish Cup / News - Basketnews.com

Anadolu Efes Istanbul claimed the Turkish Cup, defeating Fenerbahce Beko Instabul in Bursa 86-72 (16-14, 25-13, 21-22, 24-23).

After a tight first quarter, Efes rallied in the second, starting it with a 9-0 run (25-14). They proceeded to increase their advantage to 17 points (41-24). They had a 14-point lead at halftime, holding Fenerbahce to just 27 points (41-27).

Rodrigue Beaubois' tough 3-pointer increased Efes' lead to 17 in the third (59-42). Devin Booker and Marko Guduric helped Fenerbahce come back within 10 points in the fourth (54-64). However, that turned out to be their best effort, as Efes finished the game well, coming away with a 14-point victory.

Vasilije Micic and Tibor Pleiss led Efes today. Micic finished with 24 points (3/4 2PT, 3/8 3PT, 8/8 FT), 6 assists, 1 rebound, and 23 PIR. Pleiss added 20 points (6/9 2PT, 2/2 3PT, 2/2 FT), 8 rebounds, 1 block, and 25 PIR.

Adrien Moerman added an impressive double-double, finishing with 13 points (4/4 2PT, 1/6 2PT, 2/2 FT), 16 rebounds, 1 assist, and 23 PIR.

On the opposing side, Devin Booker was the best man for Fenerbahce, ending with 17 points (6/7 2PT, 1/4 3PT, 4/4 FT), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 20 PIR.

Elijah Bryant did not play for Efes today. Krunoslav Simon was granted Bryant's spot on the roster.

Achille Polonara, Nando De Colo, and Jan Vesely weren't available for Fenerbahce. Jehyve Floyd and Merkel Starks suited up in their place.
