"We were able to sign a Euroleague player for all intents and purposes. He will give us a lot of playing wisdom and especially rich experience at all levels," Halperin told after the signing.
"K.C. will bring us lots of shooting options, he is a diverse scorer and a complete player who likes to play on both sides of the field," the coach continued. "To win titles, he knows what the battles have to be done for it, and his resume speaks for itself."
The player himself was also pleased to play in Israel after an unsuccessful stint in Germany. "I always felt I would play in Israel someday, and I'm happy it's happening with Hapoel," Rivers said after signing with Hapoel. "I know we have a good team and I hope I can add from my experience."
"I have won many career titles so the expectations and desire to go all the way fit me. I count the minutes until my first meeting with the team's fans. Come on Hapoel!" KC finished his thoughts.
After spending the last season in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, Rivers was a part of Bayern this year, averaging 6.2 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1 assist for 3.3 PIR in the 6 matches played for the club in the EuroLeague.
Rivers has been a EuroLeague champion, Spanish, Greek, Adriatic, Serbian, and Lithuanian league winner with multiple clubs throughout his long European basketball career.
