Jordi Bertomeu calls urgent EuroLeague clubs meeting / News - Basketnews.com
The CEO of the EuroLeague, Jordi Bertomeu, calls urgent EuroLeague clubs meeting.
The meeting will be hosted on Friday at 12:00 CET via videoconference, per BasketNews sources.
All 18 teams will participate.
Clubs will discuss the current political situation in Ukraine and the potential impact it can have on the EuroLeague.
Despite the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which was followed by a massive reaction from International authorities and the basketball world, EuroLeague officially stated that all games that include three Russian clubs (CSKA, Zenit, UNICS) would be played as scheduled.
EuroLeague announced that they keep constantly monitoring the situation and following any decisions taken by national and international authorities.
"Euroleague Basketball will continue with the scheduled competition calendar unless the integrity of all participating teams is at risk and/or there are governmental decisions that prevent any games from taking place under normal circumstances," EuroLeague announced in the press release.
