"As we have announced, we are initiating a conversation with the EuroLeague about the situation. Although the league will discuss all issues at tomorrow's meeting, we decided that such a reaction is too slow and we have already made a decision," Zalgiris GM Paulius Motiejunas said.
"Zalgiris will not go to Russia, where double matches of the season were supposed to be played. We will talk to the Western European clubs competing in the EuroLeague and offer to make a joint decision not only to not play the matches but also to boycott the games with all Russian teams."
The Lithuanian squad was scheduled to take on CSKA on March 25th in Moscow and Zenit on April 8th in St. Petersburg.
It was previously reported that FC Bayern Munich have requested for tonight's game against CSKA Moscow to be postponed.
A German TV broadcaster, MagentaTV, will not broadcast the game between Bayern and CSKA even if it does take place.
