Euroleague Basketball will analyze the alternatives to implement the decisions and submit the plan to the ECA Shareholders Executive Board for approval.
The next meeting will be held on Monday. Only ECA shareholders will approve the relocation plan that Russian teams and EuroLeague will work on this weekend, per BasketNews sources.
The relocation was the primary plan presented by Jordi Bertomeu, EuroLeague Basketball President and CEO.
He suggested following the UEFA example. European football's governing body decided that Russian and Ukrainian clubs and national teams will be required to play their home matches at neutral venues until further notice.
Three Russian teams, CSKA Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg, and UNICS Kazan, expressed their concerns and were initially against the relocation.
But EuroLeague insisted that it was the best possible way to continue the season under current circumstances.
Zenit have six regular-season home games left on their schedule, while CSKA have five and UNICS have four.
All three Russian clubs are currently ranked in the Top 8.
Zalgiris Kaunas GM Paulius Motiejunas suggested boycotting the rest of the games against Russian teams.
Although he didn't receive any support from other EuroLeague clubs, Motiejunas claims he won't change his mind. They accept all the consequences for refusing to play two games against Zenit St. Petersburg and CSKA Moscow.
Euroleague Basketball will continue to monitor the situation, including any regulations imposed by national and international authorities. Per the official announcement, it will adopt any necessary changes to the above decisions.
The decisions will be shared with the EuroCup clubs ahead of next week's games and should be applied to that competition.
