Zdovc: 'I am ashamed to look at which place we're in' / News - Basketnews.com
Zalgiris Kaunas made light work of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens on the road, providing a great follow-up to their impressive home win over Real Madrid one week ago and reaching their third straight EuroLeague victory.

Coach Jure Zdovc commended his squad on another terrific performance, emphasizing that only Nemanja Nedovic could cause some problems to his side.
"Congratulations to my players on a good game," the Slovenian tactician said in the post-game presser.
"We didn't know what to expect. Everyone's focus was on what's happening in Ukraine. My players played hard from the first second.
We relaxed at some point because we scored a lot. Some 3-pointers by Nedovic was the only way for Panathinaikos to come back. We got a quick 20-point lead and, from my experience, sometimes that's not good. But we managed to control the game until the end."
The fact that Zalgiris are essentially playing without pressure since their playoff chances are only theoretical doesn't make Jure Zdovc feel at ease, but having a full squad has proven particularly beneficial for his team's surge over the last games.
"We're now a different team because three main players have come back from injuries. We can keep the same rhythm.
It's not nice to be in last place. Honestly, I'm ashamed to look at which place we're in. We're playing good defense lately and that's the way we're getting wins," Zalgiris's coach went on to say.
Asked about the war in Ukraine and Russian teams having their games suspended, Zdovc replied that he's in total agreement with the decision.
"It's a decision; I respect and support it 100%," he uttered.
"What happened it terrible, unacceptable, and really sad. I'm happy that people from all levels are trying to help Ukrainian people."
