Artem Pustovyi sent a clear message to the world after the game Ukraine National Team played in Spain just a few hours later the beginning of the war. His colleague Volodymyr Gerun talked in an interview with Radio Marca about the situation in his country.

“I am worried for my country because everything goes fast”, he said. “You don't know what is going to happen. My family is now safe and will not leave. I will not fight, but people from my age will, in order to defend their country”, admitted Gerun.

Gerun had no doubts there has been brainwashing in Russia.

“People over there are not watching the same news as the rest of the world. What the Russian soldiers are doing is a terrorist act. They do not even know what they are doing exactly”, added the former FC Barcelona player.

The Ukrainian center, who is playing in Buyukcekmece Basketbol, confessed his mind is not on basketball.

“I do not have too much energy, but this is my job. What happened in Spain during the FIBA Windows made people proud of our country. I can’t sleep well. My only thoughts are for the war to stop”.

Asked about the suspension of the Russian teams in European competitions, Gerun admitted that some Russian players do not think like their government.
