Spencer Dinwiddie scored a season-high 36 points and Dorian Finney-Smith sank a 3-pointer with 3.8 seconds remaining Saturday as the Luka Doncic-less Dallas Mavericks (39-25) rallied to beat the Sacramento Kings (24-42) 114-113 (26-36, 25-29, 34-27, 29-21).

Sacramento guard De'Aaron Fox tied a career high with 44 points but missed a chance to give the Kings the lead when he missed the first of two foul shots with 12 seconds remaining. He made the second to tie the game.

Finney-Smith broke the tie with his fifth 3-pointer of the game, and at the other end, Harrison Barnes missed a 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining that would have forced overtime. Justin Holiday's putback capped the scoring.

Dallas coach Jason Kidd said that Doncic, who is averaging 27.8 points and 9.2 rebounds, could be available for Monday's home game against the Utah Jazz.

Finney-Smith scored nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as Dallas roared back after trailing by as many as 19 points in the first half to win their fourth consecutive game.

Dinwiddie made 11 of 22 shots in his seventh game for Dallas since coming over from the Washington Wizards in a trade. Jalen Brunson added 23 points and Josh Green had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Mavs.

Domantas Sabonis contributed 15 points and 10 rebounds for Sacramento, which concluded its five-game road trip with a 2-3 mark. Trey Lyles had 11 points and six rebounds while Donte DiVincenzo added 10 points.

Sacramento took a 36-26 lead into the second quarter after shooting 53.6 percent from the field.

The Kings extended their lead to 53-34 with 4:09 left in the second quarter before Dallas closed the half with a surge to cut the deficit to 65-51 at the half. Fox, who scored 23 points in the first half, put Sacramento ahead 87-74 after scoring with 3:49 left in the third quarter.

Sacramento led 92-85 before Dallas opened the final period on a 10-2 run and took its first lead of the game at 95-94 on Dinwiddie's layup with 9:51 remaining.

Reggie Bullock scored 11 points for Dallas, which moved a season-high 14 games over .500 and won the season series against the Kings, 3-1.

Sacramento trails the New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, and San Antonio Spurs in the battle for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference.
