Virtus Bologna officially introduced their newest addition to the roster, former CSKA Moscow guard Daniel Hackett. Luca Baraldi, the CEO of the club, highlighted the importance of the addition.

"Daniel could have gone anywhere in the summer but he chose us. He probably saw in us the right qualities and values. Players see us as an important step in their careers. We don't improvise, we have a very specific plan that we follow".

Paolo Ronci, the general director of the club, explained that Virtus Bologna started to follow Daniel Hackett already last summer and that the original plan was trying to add him for next season but the current situation in Ukraine accelerated the process.

"The plan was to try to sign Daniel for the summer. We're very happy about this addition because we always want a strong core of Italian players. Daniel was able to free himself from CSKA thanks to his great relationship with president Vatutin and then we quickly finalize the deal. He's the first player coming from a Russian club who has already the green light to play for another club".
