On February 24th, Russia launched a military attack on Ukraine which started a subsequent war that has been going on until now. Today, Ukrainian basketball players have united to send a message both to the basketball community and the entire world.

"We are the Ukrainian basketball players, for many years we have represented our country around the world. We win games, we win trophies, we set records, we play against the best teams in the world, and against the best basketball players on the planet," the players started.

"But most important: we are the people, we are the parents of our children, we are the sons of our fathers and mothers. We are someone's best friends and worthy husbands for our wives."

The players in the Oleksandr Proshuta's video include Slava Bobrov, Kyrylo Fesenko, Max Zvonov, Denys Lukashov, Slava Kravtsov, Ilya Sydorov, Oleksandr Lypovyy, Maxim Korniyenko, Sergiy Pavlov, Pavlo Krutous, Vitaliy Zotov, Slava Petrov, Stas Timofeenko, Maxim Zakurdaev, Alex Len, Svi Mikhailuik, andDmytro "Smoove" Kryvenko.

"For 10 days now, Russian missiles and planes have been vilely killing peaceful Ukrainians," the statement continues. "For no reason, without declaring war they are destroying our infrastructure. They break the psyche of our dear people under the guise of idiotic ideas of liberation from non-existent fascists just because Putin is crazy."

"It is impossible to argue that he wants more and more women and children's blood. Putin does not spare even the lives of Russians who in the first week alone killed more than 6000 people."

"We appeal to the entire basketball world community, we call on you to fight this war, to stop the killing and destruction of our beautiful country. We ask Ukrainians to unite in the face of the enemy, gather all our strength in our fists, and find the courage not to lose faith in our victory because it will definitely come."

"There is no other way. Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Glory to all the heroes who protect our land! Glory to Ukraine!" the players ended their statement.
