White was selected with the 49th overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. However, he has never appeared on the NBA court, while on July 6, 2019, his draft rights were traded to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade.
The third squad, which was involved in the trade, was the San Antonio Spurs.
Asked if these kinds of NBA trades make him feel any type of way, Aaron White admitted that this particular one does.
"It's an interesting story. Some of these trades happen, and the guy that gets traded is like, 'Wait what, I got traded?' That summer is before I signed in Milan, and I was actually deciding between Washington and Europe. I had a deal in place with Washington and had the offer from Milan, and I was trying to decide what I wanted to do.
So, that was kind of, let's say, a rug that was pulled under my feet. It was a surprise. I can remember sitting at my table, in my kitchen back home, and my agent calling me with the news I was traded, and it was kind of out of a left field.
It kind of took away that option that I had. I don't want to get into detailed detail, but it wasn't just one of those things, where like 'Oh, I got traded'. It was interesting and definitely a story that I told a lot but not on camera," White shared his feelings on an unexpected career shift.
After stints in Milan and Tenerife, Aaron White found his place with Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, spending one year in the Greek capital.
Nevertheless, last summer, he moved again, this time to Crvena Zvezda.
He started the 2021-22 season being out after suffering a broken forearm in the pre-season game. However, White went a successful way of recovery and now has a stable role in Zvezda. He is averaging 5.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 8.5 PIR over 11 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague duels this campaign.
