Joventut officially announced that head coach Carles Duran extended his contract until 2025.

Two seasons more for a coach who brought back enthusiasm to Badalona. Since his arrival in 2018, the club has overcome financial problems and is among the best four teams in the ACB League.

While he was in Berlin closely following Aito Garcia Reneses' methods, a phone call changed everything. It was a big challenge but an unmissable opportunity. Duran accepted it.

The beginnings were tough. He lost his first 5 games, but in the final stretch of the season, he won 8 of the last 10 games to keep Joventut in the Spanish first division.

Laprovittola's arrival from Saint Petersburg was a key factor. The Argentine guard continued next year, being the ACB League MVP in the 2018-19 season.

Duran brought stability to the team, who has qualified for the Spanish Copa del Rey three times in four years. Between 2012 and 2018, they only played it once.

Joventut have now the best record in the entire EuroCup, as youngsters are getting opportunities (Joel Parra, Pep Busquets...), and only FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are ahead in the ACB League standings.

Badalona smiles. Duran too. He will be Joventut's head coach until 2024.
