Panathinaikos OPAP Athens suffered their worst loss in the current campaign at the hands of archrivals Olympiacos Piraeus. The final score (73-101) made history, as it marked the biggest defeat for any team in the European history of Greek derbies.Giorgos Papagiannis, who finished the game with 18 points and 9 rebounds for a PIR of 26 in 32 minutes, saw Moustapha Fall dominating the paint, as the Frenchman scored nine points in the opening seven minutes - mostly against the Greek center. After the clash, Papagiannis spoke about PAO's disappointing performance in the derby, pointing out that his team has a lot of issues to work out ahead of future contests. "We didn't get off to a good start at all," the 24-year-old told Greek broadcaster NOVASPORTS.

"I apologize on behalf of everyone, how we played was unacceptable. Us being low in the standings doesn't mean we have to give up and lose like that," he continued."We want to fix our image. We had good momentum in the third quarter, but we didn't keep it going. Olympiacos made some shots and got back the momentum," Papagiannis stressed."There is only one feeling right now - anger. I didn't play up to par, especially on defense. We still have a very important domestic title to claim. We lost the Greek Cup title," the Greek international reminded.

We haven't started a game like we did today. The deficit became enormous. This loss must be a lesson for us going into the next games."

The Greens' coach Dimitris Priftis described the way Panathinaikos entered the derby in Piraeus in one word: shameful. The Greek tactician was very disappointed after the end of the game, stressing that his team's performance in the first quarter "was shameful" before uttering, "Shame on us all.""There's nothing else to say, we were very bad," Priftis concluded his post-game remarks.
