Shawn Kemp arrested for alleged drive-by shooting in Washington
NBA legend Shawn Kemp was arrested and booked at the PierceCounty Jail in Washington on Wednesday night for an allegeddrive-by shooting, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Earlier today, the Tacoma Police Department announced that shotswere fired in a local parking lot following an altercation betweentwo drivers. No injuries were reported, and the gun wasrecovered.
At the time, the police announced that a 53-year-old male wasbooked for a drive-by shooting, and the jail's inmate listingverified that Kemp was indeed the man in question.
Roughly four hours after the incident occurred, Kemp was bookedon the felony charge.

— Tacoma Police Department (@TacomaPD) March 9, 2023This isn't Kemp's first arrest. In 2005, he was arrested inShoreline, WA, for drug possession after he was found with a smallamount of cocaine, marijuana and a semi-automatic pistol. Hepleaded guilty to the drug-possession charge.
The following year, Kemp was arrested again for misdemeanormarijuana possession.
Kemp played in the NBA from 1989-2003, suiting up for theSeattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazersand Orlando Magic. The six-time All-Star was one of the NBA's bestdunkers. Over the course of his 14-year NBA career, he averaged14.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals.
