"All I needed was a talk with coach Messina", Mitoglou said. "When I spoke to him, I realized that there was no other option for me, I wanted to play for Olimpia. I work hard to follow his instructions because I'm fully convinced that he knows what to do".
In the first part of the recovery process from his injury, Mitoglou couldn't walk so he focused on a different type of training, the mental one.
"I tried to get the best out of that situation, training in other ways", Mitoglou explained. "I worked on the mental side. I found inspiration in the books of Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant, I studied the game watching a lot of EuroLeague games, focusing on the best players in my role, the coaching staff sent me a lot of clips to let me understand where I could've improved".
