The German team had played only one EuroLeague game since February 3, so finding its rhythm is still a challenge for head coach Andrea Trinchieri's team.

The fourth quarter started with PAO's slight advantage (61-55). Then Sant-Roos scored 4 points in a row and increased the lead to 7 with 6:16 remaining. But the tough German team wasn't ready to give up. Augustine Rubit made a 2+1 play, Hilliard hit a 3-pointer and cut the deficit to only 1 point (64-65).

After the time out, the Greek powerhouse began to play more aggressively, which let them score 6 consecutive free throws and bring back a comfortable lead (71-64).

With 1:59 remaining Nemanja Nedovic hit a crucial shot from the downtown, and Bayern were out of time to steal a very important victory (74-64).

It was a career performance for Howard Sant-Roos. Panathinaikos guard-forward scored 15 points (3/4 2PT, 1/2 3PT, 6/6 FT), grabbed 9 rebounds, made 3 steals, and had 29 in PIR.

Daryl Macon added 18 points (1/4 2PT, 4/6 3PT, 4/5 FT), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 22 PIR.

Panathinaikos started the game very strongly and built a double-digit lead after the first quarter (26-16). The Greek team were lead by Okaro White (10 points) and Macon (6 points).

Panathinaikos kept the momentum at the beginning of the second half. Georgios Papagiannis and Howard Sant-Roos started the third quarter with 2-pointers, Macon Jr added his fourth 3-pointer, and White finished off the run extending the lead to 13 (53-40). After Andrea Trinchieri's time-out, Bayern went on an 11-0 scoring run, including three consecutive 3-pointers, and after that, the game became close again (51-53).
