Per the recent BasketNews survey, the estimated budget of the Catalan club for the 2021-22 season amounts to 43.5 million euros (gross).
18.8 million is the net sum destined for players' and coaches' salaries, which translates into 36.1 million euros gross. These figures render Barca the second-richest basketball club in Europe, next only to Real Madrid (44 million).
The 59-year-old also referred to the new Palau Blaugrana, a multi-sports indoor arena with a maximum capacity of 12.500 spectators, whose construction will begin in 2022 and will replace the original Palau Blaugrana.
"We're waiting," Laporta said. "If all goes well, the gym could be done by 2026. We hope that for the centenary of the basketball section, the new Palau will be finished. But our new football stadium will finish sooner than the new Palau."
