Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade received a hostile reaction from Lithuanian fans in Kaunas before the last EuroLeague regular season game for the home team.

Zalgiris fans booed Crvena Zvezda players for not holding the banner "Stop the war" to show support for Ukraine facing the Russian invasion.

Zalgiris players and referees held the Ukrainian banner during the EuroLeague anthem minutes before the tip-off.

Not a single Crvena Zvezda player joined the sign of solidarity for the Ukrainian people.

10,206 Zalgiris fans were in attendance.

According to BNS, the largest news agency operating in the Baltic states, survey, over half of Lithuanians have donated to help Ukraine.

Aaron White, who played for Zalgiris Kaunas for two seasons, stated on his Twitter profile: 'As a team, we were told not to touch the flag. I would like to make it clear that I don't support the war and I want peace in our world".

"It's not the question for me," Crvena Zvezda head coach Dejan Radonjic replied when asked who made the decision not to join Zalgiris players and referees.
